Quest Diagnostics, with a clinical laboratory in Marlborough, has acquired the outreach lab services operations of two Hartford HealthCare hospitals.
In a press release Friday, New Jersey-based Quest announced the acquisition of the outreach lab services operations of Connecticut hospitals William W. Backus Hospital and the Hospital of Central Connecticut.
Tests performed at the two hospitals will be processed in the company’s Marlborough full-service clinical lab. Five other labs in Connecticut will handle rapid response tests.
The acquisition will enable physicians and patients in Connecticut to directly access Quest’s broader range of testing services, the company said.
Quest and Hartford HealthCare already have an established relationship, as the company acquired the outreach laboratory service business of Clinical Laboratory Partners, which was a wholly-owned subsidiary of HHC.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
