Qualcomm Inc. has leased office space at 90 Central St. in Boxborough and will move there from its current offices in Concord.
The digital communications company leased 25,952 square feet on the first floor of the Central Street location, according to Richards Barry Joyce & Partners, the Boston-based commercial real estate broker that represented the property owner, Piedmont Office Realty Trust Inc.
Qualcomm was represented in the deal by Boston broker Grubb & Ellis.
The three-story building at 90 Central St. was built in 2001 and consists of 175,000 square feet of office space. It is close to Interstate 495 and Route 2.
The office market along I-495 was about 21 percent vacant at the end of the third quarter, according to RBJ.
