Mass High Tech has named Susan Leschine, the chief scientist at Marlborough biofuels company Qteros, as one of the top 10 “women to watch” in New England.
Leschine, a professor at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, founded the company after discovering a microbe in a wetlands area near the Quabbin Reservoir that can be used to make ethanol from plant waste.
Leschine and the nine other honorees will be recognized at an evening gala in Cambridge on March 12.
