QCC to receive $500k for STEM activities

Quinsigamond Community College (QCC) will receive a $500,000 grant for their engineering, science and technology center, the school announced.

“We are thrilled to be able to continue the work we have undertaken to fortify our STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) programming,” QCC president Gail Carberry said in a statement.

Gov. Deval Patrick was scheduled to be on hand Thursday afternoon to present the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center grant to QCC and another institution. Mount Wachusett Community College President Daniel Asquino is also scheduled to speak at the ceremony, according to a media advisory.
