QCC offering drone classes

Quinsigamond Community College
Quinsigamond Community College is now offering a drone certification program, which the college says is the first of its kind at a Massachusetts community college.
The college said Thursday it is offering a complete package of courses -- both online and in-person -- addressing new tech careers drones are creating.
The course will help prepare students for a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) drone pilot exam by teaching students FAA rules, safety guidelines, models and types of drones, industry trends and job market projections, the college said.
Other classes will include aerial photography, test preparation and drone businesses.
The college cites a 2013 report by Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International projecting by the year 2025 there will be more than 100,000 new jobs in unmanned aircraft.
