QCC lands $500K grant to boost nursing labs

Quinsigamond Community College in Worcester was awarded a $499,815 Skills Capital Grant from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to update three nursing labs.
“QCC is one of the largest providers of nurse education and practical nursing in Massachusetts and staying up-to-date with technology is vital in continuing to supply the commonwealth with skilled healthcare workers,” said QCC President Luis Pedraja, in the school’s Tuesday announcement
The money will go toward equipment for the nurse education lab, as well as the simulation lab and practical nursing lab. Specifically, QCC plans to buy simulation manikins, a medication dispensing system, hospital beds, patient lifts, and an EKG machine.
The Skills Capital Grant program has funded career education technology since 2015.
