Quinsigamond Community College in Worcester is hosting on Tuesday a COVID-19 vaccine clinic.
The clinic, in collaboration with grocery stores Albertsons, Shaw’s, and Osco, provided appointments for students, faculty, staff, and families to receive their first dose of the Moderna vaccine. A follow-up clinic to administer second doses is planned for June 8.
The move comes after the college’s announcement it will provide in-person classes and services in the fall. Like many other Central Massachusetts educational institutions, QCC shifted to online operation in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. QCC is now encouraging but not mandating student vaccination for the upcoming school year.
Additionally, the clinic was open to students, faculty, and staff from Assumption University in Worcester, Anna Maria College in Paxton, and Becker College in Worcester. Assumption previously announced the university plans to require student vaccination prior to the return to campus and in-person learning.
