Only 11 international merger or acquisition deals valued at more than $50 million were announced in the industrial manufacturing industry during the first quarter, according to a PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP report.
That’s a decline from 16 deals in the first quarter of last year and 31 deals in the fourth quarter.
Manufacturing merger deals totaled $1.9 billion compared to $2 billion a year earlier and $9.6 billion in the previous quarter.
United States firms and buyers dominated the quarter, with seven of the 11 $50 million-plus deals.
