Protonex Ready To Put Fuel Cells In RVs

Military and commercial fuel cell maker Protonex Technology Corp. of Southborough said it plans to unveil a new fuel cell system for recreational vehicles in early December.

The 250-watt hybrid fuel cell system is planned for unveiling at the Recreational Vehicle Industry Association trade show in Kentucky Dec. 2-4. The cell is intended to generate power for RV users in a cleaner, quieter manner than traditional generators.

The system runs on a combination of methanol and batteries and its introduction to the RV market "represents an important milestone for Protonex as we gear up to expand into key commercial markets," said Scott Pearson, the company's CEO.
