Folks at the Bank of America branch at 365 Main St. in Worcester may have some company this afternoon.
A group of protesters organized by the Worcester Citywide Foreclosures Group plans to gather there at 3 p.m. to distribute fliers and to ask the bank to stop evicting tenants from foreclosed properties.
According to the group, the protest was sparked by the eviction of a tenant in Roxbury. The group claims Bank of America evicted the tenant even though she “had offered to pay rent,” and had arranged for someone to buy her unit.
Activists trying to physically block the eviction were arrested.
The group says it will be in front of the Main St. Bank of America branch at 3 p.m.
