ATOZ Laboratories, Inc., a proposed cannabis testing laboratory looking to set up shop in Hopkinton, has completed a renovation taking the company one step closer to getting up and running, per a press release from Gorman Richardson Lewis Architects, also based in Hopkinton, which did the work.
Gorman Richardson renovated an existing 42,000-square-foot one-story brick office building set to be used as the ATOZ cannabis testing site. Some 6,000 square feet of existing office space was refreshed with new paint, ceiling and LED lighting, with the remaining 3,000 square feet fully converted into laboratory space.
General contractor The Stukel Group, LLC, also of Hopkinton, completed the fitout, per Gorman Richardson.
ATOZ is backed by Marlborough businessman Abdullatif Zaouk, founder and CEO of KEA Technologies, Inc., an engineering research and development firm in Marlborough.
ATOZ was awarded a provisional license from the Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission in April, according to CCC documents. At the time, the company said it could be up and running within six months of receiving that license.
The Hopkinton facility is located at 100 South St.
