Program Links Teacher With Engineering Firm

Engineering firm Vanasse Hangen Brustlin Inc. has brought a Southborough teacher into its offices as part of the Leadership Initiatives for Teaching and Technology program.

The program offers middle school and high school math, science and technology teachers the opportunity to participate in a professional development program that combines graduate-level coursework and a technology-based externship.

This year, VHB is hosting Carol Miller, a physics teacher at St. Mark's College Prepatory School in Southborough. At VHB, Miller will become familiar with the engineering profession and use that familiarity to increase student awareness of, and interest in, science, technology, engineering and math.

Miller has met with VHB staff in its offices throughout New England. The civil engineering firm is based in Watertown and has an office in Worcester.
