Second-quarter profits at Westborough-based BJ’s Wholesale Club increased 27.7 percent over the same period last year to more than $45.7 million.
Revenues increased more than 10 percent to $3 billion.
Comparable store sales – or sales at stores that have been open at least a year – were up 7.8 percent for the quarter.
Excluding gasoline sales, customer traffic was flat during the quarter. The average transaction increased 3 percent.
The beauty care, computer equipment, coffee, cookies, dairy and deli departments were among the sales leaders. The weakest departments were books, televisions, toys and video games.
