Milford-based Water Corp. reported a third quarter profit of $71.5 million on net sales of $386.3 million.
For the same period a year ago, the laboratory equipment maker reported $53.3 million in profit on $353 million in net sales.
The company’s operating income increased to $98 million in the third quarter from $69.2 million in the same quarter last year.
Waters said it paid a $12 million charge related to a one-time contribution to a company 401(k) plan and the freezing of its pension plan out of its selling and administrative and research and development budgets.
