The Producer Price Index for Finished Goods rose 1.8 percent in June, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
The increase comes after increases of 0.2 percent in May and 0.3 percent in April. At the earlier stages of production, goods prices paid by producers for so-called intermediate goods climbed 1.9 percent in June after increasing 0.3 percent the prior month.
The crude goods index increased 4.6 percent following a 3.6 percent increase in May.
