Primetals, with a facility in Worcester, has signed an agreement with ExxonMobil to have the oil-and-gas giant provide lubricants and enhanced technical services exclusively to Primetals customers.
According to a press release Thursday, the agreement includes three new product categories engineered specifically for Primetals high-speed long-rolling and flat-rolling systems.
In exchange, Primetals has endorsed the products. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Both companies will provide technical services for customers who use the products, including specialized training, best practices, lubricant analysis, troubleshooting and maintenance support.
Primetals Vice President and Global Head of Metallurgical Services called ExxonMobil the ideal partner to deliver technical support for Primetals Equipment.
Tim Hinchman, director of strategic global Alliances at ExxonMobil, said the partnership will boost machine efficiency and reduce costs.
"This partnership enables us to combine our lubrication expertise with Primetals Technologies' equipment expertise to achieve one shared goal – help our customers improve their operational reliability, productivity and profitability,” Hinchman said.
