Price Chopper in Worcester issues recall on rotisserie chicken

Price Chopper Supermarkets has issued a recall on rotisserie chickens sold at its 50 Cambridge St. store in Worcester between 10:30 a.m. and noon on Thursday.

The chickens are recalled because they’re believed to have been held at an improper temperature prior to cooking, according to a statement from the Schenectady, N.Y.-based company. Only the Cambridge Street store is affected by the voluntary recall.

The statement said most of the customers who bought these items have already been contacted through Price Chopper’s SoundBite notification program. SoundBite uses purchase data and consumer phone numbers on file in connection with the company’s AdvantEdge loyalty card to alert households about matters such as this.

Customers with the affected product should return it to their local Price Chopper for a full refund. For more information, visit pricechopper.com or call Price Chopper at 1-800-666-7667, option 3.
