The POW! WOW! Worcester street art festival with dozens of graffiti murals throughout the city will return in August for its fifth year, the organization announced on Monday.
The festival will take place Aug. 13-22, largely in Worcester’s Main South neighborhood.
Billed as the largest street art festival in the Northeast, the festival plans to include the installation of at least five murals, with locations tentatively set for Jacob Hiatt Magnet School, Regional Environmental Council’s YouthGROW Garden, the YMCA of Central Massachusetts.
“Main South is one of the city’s most culturally rich and important neighborhoods for art, food, and music - all of which will be on display throughout the festival,” said Lisa Drexhage, co-director of POW! WOW! Worcester, in a statement. “For years, our mission has been to empower communities and amplify the beauty of Worcester’s neighborhoods, and we’re excited to put a spotlight on all that the Main South community has to offer.”
Those interested in financially supporting the 2021 festival may do so online, here.
