PLC Medical Systems Inc. of Franklin will begin selling its RenalGuard System internationally thanks to a three-year exclusive distribution agreement with Italian company Artech srl.
As part of the agreement, the Italian company placed an initial stocking order for about $144,000 to support the sales launch.
Artech will sell the device, which is designed to help reduce risks to patients during cardiovascular imaging procedures, to cardiology centers in Italy.
PLC received European regulatory approval of the device in December. It is in the process of getting FDA approval for distribution in the U.S.
