Planet Fitness, the exercise center franchise headquartered in New Hampshire, has opened its location in Worcester’s Lincoln Plaza at 535 Lincoln St.
The fitness franchise has 13 other Central Massachusetts locations: Gardner, Leominster, Webster, Shrewsbury, Worcester's Webster Square, Marlborough, Maynard, Milford, Natick, Pepperell, Framingham, Franklin, and West Boylston.
The Lincoln Plaza gym is 21,000 square feet and features 120 pieces of cardio equipment, 73 pieces of strength and free weight equipment, and a dedicated stretching and ab area, per the press release, according to the Tuesday announcement.
“This marks the 56th location from our franchisee group, and we are grateful for this opportunity to expand our footprint in Worcester specifically; we opened our first Worcester club in 2012, and it makes perfect sense to provide another location to this growing and vibrant city, especially after a year that reinforced how important both physical and mental wellness is for all of us,” said Brian Kablik, Planet Fitness franchisee, in the press release announcing the opening of the new location.
