Pioneer Institute: Business Climate Worsening

A new study by the Boston-based Pioneer Institute found that 40 percent of technology CEOs think the business climate in Massachusetts is "worsening."

The study found that 77 percent of business leaders believe tax policy is the most important issue in determining the competitiveness of a state. Specifically, corporate taxes are the single most important, followed by personal income taxes, research and development tax credits and unemployment insurance taxes.

The results are part of the Pioneer Institute's Keeping Massachusetts Competitive study, which was conducted in association with the Massachusetts High Technology Council, a consortium of CEOs from high-tech companies.
