Physicians Interactive Expands With Acquisition
Marlborough-based Physicians Interactive, (PI) which provides Web and mobile communication tools for health care professionals and life sciences firms, announced that it has acquired InfoMedics of Reading.
Details of the deal were not disclosed. It is PI's fourth acquisition in its 17-year history.
According to PI, the purchase allows it to access InfoMedics'platform that connects patients and physicians, helping to improve adherence to physician-prescribed therapies.
Donato Tramuto, CEO and vice chairman of PI, said, "This acquisition reaffirms our vision to create innovative solutions that advance the clinician-patient dialogue, and connect life science companies in meaningful ways that improve the quality of care and patient adherence."
PI said it will invest in the InfoMedics platform, integrating it into clinicians' daily workflows via PI's Electronic Health Records Network, Skyscape Mobile Clinical Reference App and its mobile Tomorrow Networks. PI said its platform has a network of more than 480,000 physicians in the United States and access to over 2 million registered users worldwide.
InfoMedics CEO Gene Guselli will assume the role of president, global operations and medical and analytic services for the new PI/InfoMedics team.
