Maintenance workers at the Foxwoods Resort Casino are considering unionizing.
The International Union of Operating Engineers has filed a petition seeking to organize physical plant workers.
The 262 workers eligible to join the union include the electricians, plumbers, power plant operators, sheet metal mechanics and others who help with the daily operation and maintenance of the casino.
A spokesman for the Mashantucket Pequots, the tribe that owns and operates Foxwoods, says the National Labor Relations Act does not apply on the reservation.
Dealers at the casino have voted to organize under the United Auto Workers union, but the tribe is challenging the vote.
