The land trust and conservation organization The Trustees of Reservations recently presented Fitchburg Mayor Lisa Wong and the Fitchburg Greenway Committee with its Conservationists of the Year Award. Framingham Co-operative Bank Charitable Foundation has donated $10,000 to Framingham High School's Resiliency for Life program. The program offers social support services to at-risk students, seeking to prevent drop-outs and help students succeed academically. Bank of America recently donated $83,014 to the United Way of Central Massachusetts. Schartner Farm of Bolton recently hosted a fundraiser for the Oncology/Hematology Clinic at Marlborough Hospital, raising more than $3,000. The event included apple, pumpkin and raspberry picking and a three-and-a-half acre corn maze that spells out Schartner Farm. The farm held it in honor of Bob Schartner, who died of myelodysplastic syndrome in 2009.
