The event raised more than $20,000 to support the Clubs' after school programs. Of Note...

Tufts Health Plan Foundation announced its first grants this month, providing nearly $700,000 to local organizations that promote good health in the community. This year’s 26 recipients included VNA Care in Worcester, which received $10,000.

The American Cancer Society has awarded three research grants totaling $996,000 to researchers in Massachusetts. The grants, which went into effect July 1, 2008, are among 133 national research and training grants totaling more than $54 million in the second of two grant cycles for 2008.

The Worcester Regional Research Bureau announced the 2008 recipients of the Thomas S. Green Public Service Award. They are: Maureen Binienda, Worcester Public Schools; Donna Haran, Worcester Public Schools; Edmund Kochling, Worcester Dept. of Public Works & Parks; and Cindy Ide, Grafton Town Administrator’s Office.

The Gray Group of Worcester, comprised of Robert Gray, Maureen Gray and Timothy Gray, was recognized in Research Magazine as one of its top-ranked advisor teams in America. The ranking was based on the methodology and criteria of independent research organization The Winner’s Circle.
