People’s United Bank awarded a total of $115,500 to 21 nonprofits, including Bay Path College, which has campuses in Sturbridge and Charlton.

Cleanups were held in 91 Worcester locations to mark Earth Day, with more than 1,000 volunteers. The cleanups were organized by the Regional Environmental Council along with the city, National Grid, Superior Waste & Recycling, Wheelabrator, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Assumption College, Worcester Common Ground, CCR Wealth Management and others.
