The personal income of Americans rose 0.5 percent in August while consumption inched up 0.4 percent, according to the Bureau of Economic Analysis.
The personal income figure represents an increase from the 0.2 percent growth in July. Personal income rose $59.3 billion in August, compared to a $22 billion rise in July.
Consumer spending, meanwhile, rose 0.4 percent, or $41.3 billion, which is about the same as July’s increase.
