Perini Corp. saw an increase in both revenues and profits for the first quarter of the year, thanks largely to its acquisition of Tutor-Saliba.
The Framingham-based construction company had $39 million in net income and $1.5 billion in revenues for the quarter, compared to $25 million and $1.3 billion for the same period last year.
The company did see some fallout from the recession, with its backlog of uncompleted construction work falling from $6.7 billion at the end of 2008 to $5.8 billion on March 31, 2009. The company said it is looking to bid on civil infrastructure projects that could be awarded later this year.
