The owners of Pepe’s Italian Restaurant have acquired their 179 Shrewsbury St. location for $1.5 million, according to the Worcester Registry of Deeds.
Vesta Callegos Corp., registered to Pepe’s owners Theresa Travaglio and Luigi Romeo, purchased the property on June 12 from Shrewsbury Street General Investment LLC, of Marlborough, which is registered to local businessman Marcello Mallegni.
Travaglio also owns the Invidium Salon and Spa at the same location and a 181 Shrewsbury St. property, which was to be a new location for Pepe’s before the restaurant owners decided to move into the 179 Shrewsbury St. location instead.
Travaglio purchased the 181 Shrewsbury Street property in 2018 from Shrewsbury Street General Investment LLC.
Much has been happening with Pepe’s. The family-owned restaurant opened its Shrewsbury St. location in November, moving from Franklin Street. In spring, the restaurant opened an ice cream and gelato window at the new location.
The 181 Shrewsbury St. building sports a sign advertising Pepe’s Italian Marketplace and Dolci Bar, though construction work continues inside that location.
