Dr. Dennis M. Dimitri, a clinical associate professor and vice chair of the Department of Family Medicine & Community Health at UMass Memorial Medical Center and UMass Medical School, was elected president of the Massachusetts Medical Society at the organization’s annual meeting April 30. A Worcester resident, Dimitri will serve a one-year term as the top officer of the Society, a statewide membership organization representing more than 24,000 physicians and medical students.
Worcester-based Reliant Medical Group announced that Dr. Hector F. Simosa has joined the organization’s Department of Vascular Surgery. He will see patients at Saint Vincent Hospital and Southborough Medical Group. Dr. Simosa received his medical degree from Escuela de Medicina “Luis Razetti” at La Universidad Central de Venezuela in Caracas, Venezuela. He completed general surgery residencies at the Medical College of Virginia Hospitals in Richmond and Boston University Medical Center, followed by vascular surgery fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.
