A partner in marketing creativity
The creative team at Westboro-based PENTA Communications Inc. might be rolling out an advertising campaign for a tourist attraction one day and honing a marketing strategy for an area bank or an international manufacturer the next.
"The gamut is enormous," says founder and CEO Deborah Penta of the range of clients her 18-year-old marketing firm serves. And that’s just the way this veteran of domestic and international marketing likes it. Working for an array of companies lets her team of savvy professionals staff stay "fresh and stimulated" in its quest to craft creative marketing solutions.
"We have an exceptional team," Penta says, noting that PENTA Communications specializes in "devising solid marketing solutions, as well as providing the creativity to support those solutions."
PENTA Communications is a full-service marketing firm that offers a myriad of services, including creative services, media planning and buying, print design, website design and development, public relations, and customer retention programs. PENTA has extensive experience in reshaping a company’s marketing program to achieve greater results.
Deborah Penta started PENTA Communications in 1988, after working in London with clients that included the likes of Lancome Cosmetics, Mars Confections, Guy Laroche and Matchbox Toys. She thrives on the challenge of helping many different clients with their marketing needs.
Nearly two decades later, PENTA Communications, which settled in its current home in Westboro after several expansions, has worked with hundreds of companies and built a solid reputation as a marketing innovator by serving clients with an in-depth approach to marketing that distinguishes it from competitors. Penta says her team looks at a company’s overall business challenges and then puts together advertising, PR and marketing solutions to meet those needs.
PENTA Communications excels in helping companies of various sizes. However, there are two particular niches that represent the majority of the firm’s clientele. The first is larger, longstanding companies and the second consists of entrepreneurial operations primed for, and grappling with, growth. Penta says her company best serves clients that "want a true marketing partner instead of a vendor."
PENTA Communications has grown consistently since it’s inception. A key milestone, some years ago, Penta says, was growing the firm’s annual sales into the millions (primarily fees for services), something few women-owned companies in the world achieve. Penta won the Eli Whitney award from the Corridor Nine Chamber of Commerce in 2005, particularly satisfying, she says, because it recognized her company’s contributions in the community, as well as her business achievements.
With its longstanding track record in New England and beyond, PENTA Communications expects to achieve continued growth over the next year. "Clients trust our firm," Penta says. "That is why our retention is so strong."
Growth in the future could potentially include some acquisitions, she says. In April 2006, PENTA formed a partnership with Petrocelli Marketing. The firm will continue to look for additional powerful alliances to help strengthen its service scope over the next five years. It will also include expanding the ranks of talent in a culture that thrives on collaboration and creativity.
