The Azzur Group, LLC will break ground on its new Cleanroom on Demand laboratory facility in Devens on April 27.
The Pennsylvania-based company has leased purpose-built space of more than 103,000 square feet for lab and biomanufacturing facilities at the $500-million Devens life sciences campus being built by Boston developer King Street Properties. Azzur didn’t specify how many employees will be working in the Devens facility.
Azzur originally launched its Cleanroom on Demand lab facility business in Waltham and counts Cambridge pharmaceutical company Moderna as one of its top clients. The business is designed for small companies to use for research and development as a way to invest capital in other areas of their business outside of contracting out and building their own labspace. The program also services companies in immediate need of additional labspace and don’t want to wait to either contract out work or build their own additional suites.
In addition to the new facility in Devens, Azzur has cleanroom space in Burlington and San Diego. The company is opening two more facilities in Raleigh, North Carolina, and Alameda, California.
Azzur operates labs across the country, including in Framingham and has a consulting business with locations across the country. The company’s headquarters are located in Hatboro, Pennsylvania.
