State Rep. Vincent A. Pedone, D-Worcester, has scheduled a community meeting for next Thursday to discuss the planned expansion of the CSX rail yard along Shrewsbury and Franklin Streets.
In a statement, Pedone said he would present the results of “his independent engineering review” of Putnam Lane and the feasibility of an alternative connection between Shrewsbury Street and Fanklin Street.
CSX’s $120 million plan for the rail yard’s expansion calls for the closure of Putnam Lane.
A city committee that studied the CSX proposal voted earlier this week to recommend the project as proposed by CSX.
Pedone’s meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel St. Anne’s Recreation Center in Worcester.
