Home Decor Group, a home improvement and services company headquartered in Peabody is continuing its expansion into Central Massachusetts with its upcoming Worcester location.
Situated at 240 Shrewsbury St., formerly the site of Mad Man’s Motorcycle, the latest Home Decor Group site is undergoing heavy remodeling. Construction began in December, and the new location is expected to open in the spring with a tentative grand opening date of April 15.
Founded in 1971 by the Tapper family, the company is still family-owned and operated as it continues into its third generation, said Jonathan Tapper, managing partner of Home Decor Group.
After establishing stores in the Boston and MetroWest areas, the group’s goal is to continue to move west.
“We want to expand as long as we keep finding the right markets to expand to,” Tapper said in a Wednesday interview with the WBJ.
In addition to its upcoming Worcester store, the Home Decor Group just signed a lease for a Hudson location. Starting at Peabody, the strategy is to expand along the Massachusetts Turnpike and find different opportunities throughout the Central Massachusetts market, said Tapper.
“It’s just a great area. It’s growing way quicker than the eastern part of the state right now,” Tapper said.
Part of the store’s remodeling will showcase some of the services the Home Decor Group offers such as its Benjamin Moore paint line, wall coverings, and flooring options.
The new store will provide home improvement services and goods to everyone from contractors and residential managers focused on large projects to renters who just want to redecorate one of their rooms.
“The goal is to make everyone who walks through that door feel comfortable,” Tapper said.
CORRECTION: A previous edition of this article said that Home Decor Group offered epoxy floors and LED lighting, that description is incorrect. The company primarily specializes in paint and painting supplies.
