Patrick Signs Agreement With Colombia

Nearly a week into a trade trip to Colombia, Gov. Deval Patrick signed an agreement to formalize collaboration between the South American country and Massachusetts in the life sciences, technology and clean energy industries, Patrick’s office announced.

The agreement also calls for collaboration on non-conventional renewable energy, smart grids, energy efficiency and water technology.

The agreement follows a free trade agreement the United States signed with Colombia last year, opening up an estimated $1.1 billion market for exports.
