Patrick Names Cabinet, Replaces Bowles
Gov. Deval Patrick has announced cabinet secretaries for his second term, making current Commissioner of Conservation and Recreation Rick Sullivan the state's new secretary of energy and environmental affairs.
Sullivan takes over for Ian Bowles, the state's first energy and environment secretary, who is leaving the post for the private sector.
Sullivan was mayor of Westfield from 1994 to 2007 and has held a variety of public positions, including chairman of the state turnpike advisory board.
Key reappointments include Greg Bialecki, secretary of housing and economic development; Joanne Goldstein, secretary of labor and workforce development; Jay Gonzalez, secretary of administration and finance and Jeffrey Mullan, secretary of transportation and CEO of the Massachusetts Department of Transportation.
