Patrick Admin Official Wins SBA Award

Ron Marlow, state Assistant Secretary for Access and Opportunity, has been selected as the 2010 New England and Massachusetts Minority Business Champion by the U.S. Small Business Administration.

Marlow was chosen for his work to increase business opportunities for minorities. Marlow is part of the state Office of Access and Opportunity, which was created by Gov. Deval Patrick in 2008 to encourage greater participation in government and business by minorities.

Recently, the office formed a task force to identify public policy initiatives that could improve the employment scenario for what the state calls the “chronically unemployed and underemployed.”
