Campfire Cannabis, a new camping-themed recreational retail outfit, is expected to open in West Boylston this fall, after receiving final licensure from the Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission on Sept. 10.

The business, located at 65 West Boylston St., is both minority-owned and women-owned, according to public CCC documents.

Owned by Anand Patel, Alpa Patel and Mita Patel, who are all partners within the company, the group is also looking to open an adult-use store in Salisbury, although that location is still in the application process. The company’s website describes the business as family-owned.

Once open, Campfire plans to sell a variety of cannabis products, including flower, pre-rolls, concentrates, topicals, tinctures and edibles.

According to Campfire’s application with the CCC, the company plans to give hiring preference to residents in Worcester and Haverhill, certified economic empowerment priority applicants, social equity program participants, Massachusetts residents with drug convictions and Massachusetts residents with parents or spouses who have drug convictions.

The company also aims to recruit women for 50% of its staff, minorities for 25-30% of its staff, veterans for 5-10% of its staff, persons with a disability for 5-10% of its staff, and members of the LGBTQ community for 5-10% of its staff.

An official opening date has not yet been announced, although Campfire is actively hiring, according to its website.
