New-York-based Pall Corp. has announced plans for a "Life Sciences Center of Excellence" in Westborough.
Operations and employees at Pall's Northborough facility will be transferred to the Westborough complex at 20 and 26 Walkup Dr., which the company is leasing.
Pall – which develops technology for filtration, separation and purification of water and cell cultures for pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies – said the 113,000-square-foot facility will showcase its technologies and have advanced life sciences equipment, as well as serve as a proving ground for new technologies and applications.
Pall said the complex, scheduled to open in spring 2013, will be a place for training for both employees and customers as well.
"Our New England Life Sciences Center of Excellence is an important addition to our global network of customer support centers," said company President Ken Frank. "It will complement our new center in Menlo Park, Calif., and serve as a technical hub for our life sciences business and operations in the Northeast region of the United States."
Frank added that the new facility will give Pall an excellent opportunity for growth and allow it to retain and attract engineers from New England.
