South Korea’s Ministry of Food and Drug Safety has given the greenlight to Oxford Immunotec’s T-Cell Select reagent kit, the Marlborough diagnostics company announced on Thursday.

The reagent kit is an immune cell separation reagent used to automate the preparation of cells required to run the company’s T-SPOT tuberculosis test.

The reagent kit simplifies the test, reducing hands-on time, and allowing for higher throughput, according to Oxford Immunotec.

“It will enable adoption of the test in many more labs throughout the country and most importantly will extend the benefits of our test to more patients,” said Peter Wrighton-Smith, the company’s CEO.

The kit is already available throughout Europe.
