A Worcester woman who runs two staffing agencies was charged by the Massachusetts Office of the Attorney General on Thursday, having allegedly evaded more than $49,000 in premiums from insurance companies.
Solynna Taing, age 56, was arraigned in Worcester County Superior Court on four charges of workers’ compensation insurance fraud and three counts of larceny over $250. Taing pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The two staffing agencies in Worcester registered to Taing are National Temp Services, located on Parson Hill Drive, and New World Temps, located on Timrod Drive, according to the Massachusetts Secretary of State’s corporate database.
The attorney general’s office alleges between 2014 and 2018, Taing either provided false information or lied to insurance auditors during yearly audits about the size of her workforce at her two temporary staffing companies. Taing allegedly underreported payroll for the businesses by more than $2 million.
Taing was first indicted by a Worcester County grand jury on May 25. She will be back in Worcester Superior Court on Sept. 19 for a pre-trial conference.
