The owner of 39 Lamartine St., the former site of Worcester Electrical Associates Inc., is seeking to have the property included in a commercial corridor overlay, which would allow for certain advantages in development.
Attorney Donald O’Neil of Worcester will be representing the property owner Polar Views LLC of Sutton during a public hearing on Wednesday night of the Worcester Planning Board. It seeks to make the property part of the Commercial Corridor Overlay - Canal District Parking Subarea.
O’Neil did not respond to a request for information.
This would ease parking restrictions on the property, as well as prevent it from being used for certain purposes such as a gas station, or car sales lot.
The property was sold in March to Tamam Jaber, owner of Bay State Shawarma & Grill in Worcester for $1.8 million. Then, it was transferred in April to Polar Views LLC, registered to Rebecca and Daniel Yarnie.
The Yarnies are owners of Yarnie Property Management in Northborough, and Daniel Yarnie on Aug. 18 purchased the location of Suney’s Pub and Family Restaurant in Worcester.
The area around Lamartine Street has been active lately, as it is close to the Polar Park baseball stadium and the Madison Properties developments on the former Wyman Gordon land. A 38-unit residential development has been proposed at 90 Lamartine St. by Worcester Bedworks Inc. of New York, and 300 Southbridge St. is being redeveloped into apartments by Boston-based Dalfior Development, Inc.
