Optim secures $860K Navy videoscope contract

A Sturbridge manufacturer of remote vision products has been awarded a $860,000 contract to supply its newest product to the U.S. Navy, Fleet Logistics Center in San Diego.
Optim LLC said this month it will supply its FreedomView LED Videoscope to the Fleet Logistics Center, where it will be outfitted in all Commander Naval Surface Force Atlantic ships as a way for gas turbine system technicians to conduct maintenance on gas turbine generators, propulsion engines, and their supporting systems. It’s a sleek, compact mechanism with an integrated LED light source, according to Optim.
The device has also been purchased by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the U.S. Department of State.
