Liz O’Neil has been promoted from her role as director of programming and events at the Blackstone Valley Chamber of Commerce to the newly-created title of executive director.
Joining the chamber six years ago, O’Neil’s new role will see her continue to oversee programming, events, and day-to-day operations, with the new title meant to reflect her contributions to the organization, according to a press release issued by the chamber on Thursday.
O’Neill is second-in-command to Jeannie Hebert, who’s led the chamber for the past 17 years.
“I am pleased to announce Liz’s well-deserved title elevation,” Hebert said in the press release. “Over the past six years at the BVCC, she has demonstrated her ability to wear many different hats well. We are a small but mighty team here, and Liz has risen to the task, whatever it may be, to ensure that our standards of quality are always carried out. This move strengthens our leadership team and ensures the continued excellence of our programming, with my full focus remaining on the strategic direction and overall growth of the Chamber.”
Prior to her time at the Blackstone chamber, O’Neill served as the senior event designer & director of nonprofit events at Peppers Artful Events in Northborough, according to her LinkedIn profile.
Founded in 1979, the Blackstone Valley Chamber of Commerce is the fifth largest chamber in Central Massachusetts, according to data provided to the WBJ Research Department, with 475 members as of the second quarter of 2025.
