Old Dominion Rail Line sells Oxford property for $19M

Old Dominion Freight Line Inc., a Virginia-based trucking company, has sold its Oxford shipping terminal for $19 million to an Ohio-based corporation.

The transaction for the property, located at 6 Pioneer Dr., was finalized on Friday, according to Worcester District Registry of Deeds records. The site was sold to Ramar Land Corp., a corporation based in Wilmington, Ohio. Ramar shares an address and some corporate officers with R+L Carriers, a privately owned freight company, according to a listing for the company on BisProfiles.com.

Old Dominion became the owner of the property in 2008 via a $9 million purchase, following the bankruptcy of the property’s former owner, Jevic Transportation of New Jersey. Constructed in 1998, the site was given a tax assessment value of $5.01 million in fiscal 2023, according to Town of Oxford property records.

Founded in 1965, R+L Carriers has grown from a single truck to a fleet of more than 21,000 vehicles, now serving the entire United States, plus Canada and several Caribbean countries, according to its website.

R+L did not immediately return a request for comment from WBJ.
