NY Grocery Signs Shrewsbury Lease
Shrewsbury could be home to a new Indian/Asian grocery store by Dec. 1, according to brokers who signed Patel Brothers of New York to a long-term lease at 504 Boston Tpke.
The Shrewsbury store would be Patel's second in Massachusetts. The other is in Waltham. Patel Brothers also has two stores in Upstate New York. The Shrewsbury lease is for 8,198 square feet directly across Lake Street from Borders Books and Music. Patel Brothers will be in the same building as AT&T Wireless, Route 9 Carpet & Flooring, Pepperoni Express Pizzeria, Deja Brew and Denise Day Dance Studio.
According to Peter Dunn, a broker with Worcester commercial real estate firm Kelleher & Sadowsky Associates, Patel Brothers intends to do extensive renovations to its space before moving in.
