NSTAR, Union Reach Contract

Members of the Utility Workers Union of America Local 369 have ratified a contract extension with NSTAR Electric & Gas, the utility for portions of Central and Eastern Massachusetts.

The three-year extension will take effect on June 2, when the current contract expires. The deal calls for cost of living raises of 3.25 percent for the first two years of the contract and 3 percent for the third year, along with the continuation of existing benefits.

The union represents about 1,900 NSTAR employees.

NSTAR serves more than 1 million electric customers in 81 communities and 300,000 gas customers in 51 communities.
