Boston-based electricity and natural gas utility NStar has declared a quarterly dividend of $0.40 per share.
The dividend is payable May 1.
The board of directors of NStar Electric Co., a wholly-owned subsidiary of NStar said it would pay a quarterly dividend of $1.06 per share or $1.19 per share on certain classes of preferred stock.
NStar has paid a dividend for 484 consecutive quarters.
The company serves 1.1 million electricity customers and about 300,000 natural gas customers in 51 Massachusetts communities, including several in Central Massachusetts.
