A opioid abuse recovery center is being established at the Family Continuity Recovery Support Center in Northbridge thanks to a share of $3.5 million in state government funding.
The Northbridge facility is one of eight new centers funded by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health in an initiative announced May 8. They join 10 existing designated recovery support centers, including Everyday Miracles Recovery Support Center in Worcester and The Recovery Connection in Marlborough.
Family Continuity Recovery Support Center is receiving $400,000 to add programming on education and training on financial management, parenting, stress management, child support education, employment preparation, and assistance with Criminal Offender Record Information, or CORI, documentation.
The center and the seven others were chosen based on geographic accessibility and ability to serve diverse communities, according to the state.
