North Central chamber names new chairman

The president of S.J. Mullaney Engineering in Leominster has been named the new board chairman for the North Central Massachusetts Chamber of Commerce.
The chamber elected Stephen Mullaney at its June 14 annual meeting and announced the decision on Wednesday.
Mullaney, who founded S.J. Mullaney Engineering in 2004, succeeds as chairman Mark Freeman, the president of SteelFab, Inc. in Fitchburg. Mullaney was named chairman for a two-year period.
The chamber elected as its new vice chair Deborah Weymouth, the president of HealthAlliance Hospital in Leominster. Director Steve Rocheleau, the president of Rocheleau Tool & Die of Fitchburg, was named treasurer. A new member elected to the board was Rachel Lopez, the president of Resource Management Inc. of Fitchburg.
Mullaney has been a member of the chamber of commerce since 2005 but has been involved with the chamber since the 1990s, when he was active through his employer at the time, David E. Ross Associates of Ayer. He's been a member of the board since 2011.
Mullaney, a Leominster native, was the 1986 valedictorian and male All-Bernardian at St. Bernard's Central Catholic High School in Fitchburg. He is a 1991 summa cum laude graduate of Northeastern University.
Mullaney's involvement in the area also includes serving on the Leominster Airport Study Committee and as a liaison from Leominster to Devens redevelopment agencies.
